Pre-read Sounds
Age: 2.5–5 years old
Class Size: 8 maximum
Class Duration: 1 hour 30 mins
In the Pre-read Sounds programme, we focus on building a sound literacy foundation in our children by introducing elements of phonemic awareness and alphabetic knowledge (upper and lower cases of letters). Through fun exercises and activities, our students learn to identify first and last sounds in a word while strengthening their fine motor skills and attention span.
As they learn to form and speak words, our students will grasp the concept of how words are made up of sounds. Through engaging activities, they will master the sounds (18 consonants, 5 short vowels and 7 digraphs) and connect these sounds with written letters and words. This builds their cognitive skills in differentiating and classifying different sounds and sparks their interest in learning and exploring words, developing them into confident listeners.
