In the Early Reader programme, we focus on inculcating good reading habits and imparting advanced sound manipulation skills to our students, including exceptions to phonics principles. This leads to mastery of basic word decoding skills, enabling them to spell essential sight words.
Our students will receive explicit reading and phonics instruction so that they can read independently for short periods of time. Through this, they will learn new consonant blends, identify compound words and contractions, and construct meaning from print.
