PSLE Booster

In the Read+ PSLE Booster programme for local (MOE) school students, we engage students in rigorous preparation aimed at excelling in the PSLE (Primary School Leaving Exam). With a sharp focus on recap and reinforcement, the programme adopts a comprehensive three-pronged approach targeting essential language components—grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension—to ensure thorough readiness for the exam.

In Grammar, students will reinforce and refine their understanding of key rules, including sentence structure and transformation (S&T), subject-verb agreement (SVA), tenses, and other complex grammar rules. This will sharpen their ability to construct and manipulate sentences accurately and effectively. Vocabulary lessons will expand students’ word knowledge, focusing on the precise usage of words in different contexts, which is essential for both comprehension and writing tasks. Comprehension lessons will provide targeted practice in visual comprehension, comprehension cloze, and open-ended questions, helping students develop the skills necessary to analyse texts, make inferences, and answer questions clearly under time constraints.

Additionally, students will engage in frequent editing and grammar cloze exercises, reinforcing their understanding of language rules while honing their ability to spot and correct errors quickly. These practices are crucial for preparing for the PSLE’s editing and cloze components.

The PSLE Booster programme also includes regular drill sessions and mock exams to help students build exam stamina and sharpen their time management skills. By the end of the programme, students will be fully prepared to approach the PSLE with confidence, armed with the strategies and skills to perform at their best.
