Embark on a magical literacy journey inspired by the story of Madagascar by Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath! Join us as we explore rhythm and storytelling while building essential reading skills such as sound blending, word segmentation, and sight word recognition—all designed to strengthen phonological awareness. Meet the cheerful Wonderlit Sound Monsters through fun, hands-on, and interactive activities that make learning come alive!
Learning Objectives:
- Letter Sounds (A – Z): Develop essential letter recognition skills through playful games and exercises.
- Blending & Segmenting: Learn to blend letters/digraphs to create words, along with basic segmentation skills.
- Sight Words & Vocabulary: Acquire 50 sight words or more and broaden vocabulary.
- Reading & Comprehension: Practise reading developmentally appropriate sentences and passages.
- Pre-writing Skills: Strengthen writing skills through engaging fine motor activities.

- Multisyllabic Words: Learn to decode words with short vowels, long vowels and silent sounds.
