Curriculum
Developer,
Oral Syllabus
(Full/Part Time)

Wonderlit is seeking a creative and talented Curriculum Writer to develop oral curriculum in line with MOE oral syllabus and approaches to join its start-up team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Research, source, plan and develop high quality curriculum with creative content in line with set teaching pedagogies and MOE requirements to deliver an engaging and effective oral programme.
  • Prepare and set weekly lesson plans which include teaching materials and audio-visual aids that excite curiosity and facilitate active learning.
  • Coordinate review and feedback on the curriculum and update lessons on a continuous basis to meet teaching objectives, and the requirements of the latest MOE syllabus.
  • Develop and conduct training programmes for teachers implementing the curriculum.
  • Support teaching of curriculum as back-up Educators where needed.
  • Participate when required, in preparation of set-up work for presentations, rehearsals, performances and in the planning and marketing of Wonderlit programmes in events etc.
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties or responsibilities assigned.
  • Be an ambassador for Wonderlit at all times in interacting with parents and other external stakeholders.
 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A Diploma or Degree in English, Communications, Education, Teaching or related field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in MOE Singapore schools as English subject HOD (Head of Department) or teacher.
  • Strong working knowledge of the current Singapore MOE oral syllabus and approaches, with practical experience in oral curriculum planning and/or education a bonus.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Collaborative, with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative, meticulous and an eye for detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiarity with other software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator) a plus.
  • Energetic, dedicated, passionate and enjoys working with and developing children.

Speech & Drama Educators
(Full/Part Time)

Wonderlit is seeking dynamic and creative Speech and Drama Educators to coach children and teenagers ages 3 to 16 in speaking and performance skills based on our curricula.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare lessons based on provided lesson plans in line with the requirements to provide high-quality learning experiences, meeting set objectives.
  • Deliver the Wonderlit Speech and Drama curriculum, with prescribed teaching materials, aids and pedagogy and in ways that excite curiosity and facilitate active learning.
  • Prepare class for Trinity Performance Art (Speech & Drama) and Communication Skills examinations (Initial to Grade 8), and MOE oral examinations where appropriate.
  • Monitor and provide progress reports and constructive feedback to parents via mobile app periodically and through F2F meeting twice a year. Prepare class for bi-annual performance for parents.
  • Participate when required, in preparation of set-up work for presentations, rehearsals, performances etc.
  • Attend in-centre training sessions to stay on top of Wonderlit’s pedagogy and teaching practices.
  • Support lesson-planning duty and creative related duties such as research, planning, writing and workshops during non-teaching hours (for full time teachers only).
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties or responsibilities assigned (for full time teachers only).
  • Maintain a high standard of work ethic, punctuality, good discipline and order.
  • Be an ambassador for Wonderlit at all times with children, parents and other external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognised qualification in Theatre, Speech & Drama or Communications Skills, with qualification from Trinity College London or London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) preferred.
  • Diploma or degree from NUS, LASALLE and NAFA and in early childhood education will be considered.
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching speech and drama or at least 2 years of experience teaching in preschools. Training will be provided before teaching any classes in Wonderlit.
  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Good class management skills with children of all ages and background.
  • Energetic, creative, enthusiastic, patient and enjoys teaching children in a fun and exciting manner.
  • Able to work weekends (5-day week).
  • Able to commit to teaching at least 4 classes (1.5 hours each) per week including weekend (for part-timer teachers only).

Phonics & Reading Educators

Wonderlit is seeking dynamic and creative Phonics & Reading Educators to deliver our literacy programme to children ages 3 to 10 based on our curricula.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare lessons based on provided lesson plans in line with the requirements to provide high-quality learning experiences, meeting set objectives.
  • Conduct pre-assessments of new students and yearly assessments for existing students to monitor reading proficiency levels and set development/improvement goals.
  • Deliver the Wonderlit Read (Phonics and Reading) curriculum, with prescribed teaching materials, aids and pedagogy and in ways that excite curiosity and facilitate active learning.
  • Monitor and provide quarterly progress reports and constructive feedback to parents via mobile app periodically and through F2F meeting twice a year.
  • Attend in-centre training sessions to stay on top of Wonderlit’s pedagogy and teaching practices.
  • Support lesson-planning duty and creative related duties such as research, planning, writing and workshops during non-teaching hours (for full time teachers only).
